Symbolic Flight Data Manual 2.50x.pdf
* Go fly Google Earth before you ever leave the ground using terrain-mapped satellite imagery and the latest US National Airspace data. See where you are going before you go there. See the terrain. See the airports. See the obstacles. See the controlled airspace and Restricted areas and MOAs. See the current Nexrad Weather. See it just the way you'll see it out the windscreen, Browse visually with your mouse or enter the flight simulator mode and fly it.
* Electronic Flight Beyond the moving map, combining National Airspace Data with Google Earth, lets your eye pick out the important places as easily as if you were a local pilot everywhere you flew in the United States. No guessing where the power tower is, or how high it is. You can see it, marked and accurately raised above the terrain. You see the bottom edge of the Class B airspace marked with its altitude. You see the airport up ahead and the runway thresholds marked.
* Based upon the latest FAA data so the augmented view is always in-sync with the latest charts.
Symbolic Flight Data is $29 for a one year subscription: 13 issues.
Symbolic Flight is $89 and includes a 1 year data subscription.
Symbolic Flight Data are available for Google Earth Windows or Mac and have been tested on Windows Netbooks, UMPCs, laptops and desktops running both Vista and XP. On the Mac side, we test on a Mac mini. If the Machine is less than 4 years old, it is probably adequate--the limiting factor is typically the graphics card. Try Google Earth. If it runs without seeming jerky or slow, Symbolic Flight Data will work as well. At worst you may not be able to turn on all the airspace data at once.
